Technical services for the design, certification and maintenance of buildings complying with the requirements of the international protocol LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for green buildings.
Buildings designed following such standards respond to a concept of sustainability which is broader that the simple energy efficiency. Evaluation criteria are divided in different chapters, such as, site sustainability, optimization of water use, building energy performance, implementation of ecological materials, CO2 emissions, indoor environmental quality, innovation in technology. The level of sustainability reached by each building is certified by the United States Green Building Council and is recognized internationally.
We hereby clarify that, especially in Europe, the certification process for LEED® buildings is often developed after the building design as an almost self-standing consulting service that “adapts” some project features to the protocol requirements. However, from our point of view, a “sustainable” buildings has to be designed as “sustainable” from the beginning. Therefore, after several years of experience, GBF offers you a completely integrated service for the design, maintenance and certification of a “sustainable” building under the LEED® protocol requirements.
