BREEAM Certification & Project Adaptation

ESPACIO TOWER - MADRID - SPAIN

The project was first analyzed focusing on its green building features which confirmed the possibility of  achieving the initial BREEAM certification goals. Afterwards, the project team determined the possible solutions for adapting the project to the protocol requirements and picked the most suitable ones terms of costs and certification level achieved. Finally the project was certified under the BREEAM IN USE protocol through the BRE standard certification process. The tasks developed by the team led by Exeleria can be summarized as follow:

• Evaluation of the sustainability potential of the building
• Identification of possible improvements and architectural solutions in order to optimize the level of certification achieved.
• Building certification process which was completed with the “Excellent” certification level award.
